Rookwood Gate Lodge

Rookwood is a scenic townland approximately 1.5 miles from Athleague village. It is a beautiful area for walking and cycling and the perfect spot to chill out and just get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Located 7 miles from Roscommon Town and 40 miles from Galway City is an ideal location for exploring the Midlands and West of Ireland. Even a day trip to the Capital is easy peasy!

Getting around

To make the most of your stay we would highly recommend that you have your own transport. Rural Ireland is not exactly the place to depend on public transport. However there is a regular daily train to Dublin from nearby Roscommon Town.

We are always at hand to taxi you to and from the local pub if you do not have a designated driver.

There is free parking at the Gate Lodge.
